Cultural encounters in the museum on Valentine`s Day

We celebrate Valentine`s Day on Feb 14th with fríendship and cultural encounters.  The event includes a stamping workshop, poetry readings, live music and guided tours to the historical Turku in plain Finnish.

2 pm – 5 pm stamping workshop in Factory workshop space | Valentine`s day cards and fabric bags
2 pm and 3.30 pm guided tours to historical Turku in plain Finnish
2.45 pm poetry reading in Aboa Vetus | Bahaulddin Rawi and Akhlad Al-Mudhafar, Arabic / English / Finnish
4.15 pm live music in Aboa Vetus | Ali Haithem (Oud) ja Abdullah Muayad (guitar and song)

The event is free of charge and part of the national project Museum as asylum.

Bahaulddin Rawi
Bahaulddin Rawi is a journalist, writer, community volunteer and an activist, originally from Iraq and now living in Turku.
Ali Haithem
Ali Haithem is a music teacher and manager of the Association of Arabic artists in Finland. He plays Oud in the Helsinki based Baghdad Band.
Abdullah Muayad
Abdullah Muyayd is a guitarist originally from Iraq, currently living in Tampere. He is studying flamenco music and playing Arabic and Spanish music in a band called Sirocco Beat.
Akhlad Al-Mudhafar
Akhlad Al-Mudhafar is originally from Iraq and has been living in Finland for almost 8 years. He works as translator and writes his poems mostly in English.
