The artists have free rein
Change is a constant part of contemporary art and Turku Biennial. The eighth Turku Biennial lives in a time interpreted by contemporary art. Diverging from the previous years, in 2017 the exhibition is not assembled around a particular theme. Turku Biennial makes room to what engages the makers of art at that very moment: the core of the exhibition is in works that embody the most interesting subjects, thoughts and deliberations of that moment. The exhibition provides a view on the state of the 100-year-old Finland in 2017.
In the winter of 2017, we will see art born for possibilities in an open-minded atmosphere. Turku Biennial 2017 open its doors to free thinking, doing and experimenting. The museum creates possibilities and connections. The artists have free rein.
