Water on the tongue

This exhibition has been made in cooperation with pupils from Perno, Puropelto and Samppalinna schools, the Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova Museum and the Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art. Most of the pupils are immigrants. The key idea behind the exhibition is how to present personality and team spirit at the same time, how to interact with each other and still be your own person. The pupils have made T-shirts which all have a common theme: stripes, but which also bear personal elements and elements borrowed from others. The landscape paintings also present individual artistic views, but they have been joined together by a network of painted elements which unite them in one way or another. The element everybody has in common in their paintings is water, in any shape or form, since it is the single most vital element for life and it unites all Men. The sound element in the background comprises of words linked to water spoken out in the native tongues of the pupils.
