Sateenkaaren päässä – aarteita ja aarretarinoita -näyttely tuo yhteen arkeologisia aarteita ja kansan suussa kehittyneitä tarinoita aarteiden ja kätkemisen taikapiiristä.

Turku Biennaali 2013 tarkastelee idylliä pohjoismaisin silmin. Turku Biennaaliin on kutsuttu 15 taiteilijaa tai taiteilijaryhmää Suomesta, Ruotsista, Norjasta, Tanskasta ja Islannista. He ovat tehneet näyttelyyn uusia teoksia, jotka ovat nyt ensimmäistä kertaa esillä.

  • Toni R. Toivonen
    13.9.2013 to 3.11.2013 Takkahuone

    Toni R. Toivonen, who worked at the artist residence of Matti Koivurinta Foundation in 2012, will continue his study on the themes of exclusion, freedom and happiness.
    In autumn 2013, the Takkahuone Gallery will feature a new series of works by Toivonen, focusing on faces and facelessness.

  • Young Artist of the Year 2013 Jarno Vesala
    13.9.2013 to 3.11.2013 Ars Nova

    Young Artist of the Year 2013 is Jarno Vesala (b. 1977) His works are installations often containing a human figure. By combining sound and moving images, Vesala creates works that emanate atmospheres that can be sensed powerfully.

  • Hanna Saarikoski
    15.11.2013 to 2.2.2014 Takkahuone

    An installation combining painting, drawing and video by Hanna Saarikoski  will be an introduction to the complexity of seeing. The new work will be on display for the first time.

  • The 80th anniversary exhibition of Turku Printmakers Association
    15.11.2013 to 2.2.2014 Ars Nova

    The Turku Printmakers Association is a regional artist organisation that has functioned with the aim of promoting graphic art for a respectable 80 years. This will be celebrated by diving into the versatile world of contemporary graphic art.

  • Letter by Letter – Traces of Reading and Writing
    6.12.2013 to 15.2.2015 Aboa Vetus

    The exhibition starting in December 2013 will open up recent research involving literacy, clarifying what we can learn through archaeological artefacts about reading, writing and language in the Middle Ages and after.
