The Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova Museum offers an Artist in Residence program in Turku, Finland. The museum focuses on the cultural heritage of medieval Finland as well as that of contemporary art.
The artist is provided a working space free of charge. The period of residence can vary from three to eight months according to the residence application.
The working space is 35 m² (view the floor plan) and is located approx. 3 km from the centre of Turku in a building completed in 2010. For the duration of the program, it is possible to rent an apartment in the same building where the studio/working space is located.
Written applications may be sent throughout the year. At the moment, all artist-in-residence programs are filled until the end of January 2019. The next free residency programs that can be applied for are available from February 2019 onwards.
