Turku Energia Biennal Junior art competition

Turku Energia Biennal Junior art competition for children and youth is held every second year in parallel with contemporary art exhibition Turku Biennal. The competition is organized by Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova -museum in co-operation with Turku Energia.

Entry is free for all. The competition has four age groups:

1.Under 7 years

2.7-9 years

3.10-13 years

4.14-18 years

The theme of this competition was the same as in Turku Biennal: Patterns of the mind. The winners are chosen by a jury consisting of artist Essi Kausalainen, who participated in Turku Biennal, Turku Energia’s director of communications Mikko Merisaari and museum's long-term employee, researcher Eeva Holkeri.

The awarded artworks are exhibited in Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova’s Omatila -room Jan 11–Mar 13 2012. All contestants will have one of their works exhibited in an internet exhibition www.turkubiennaali.fi/junior.

To take part in the competition fill out the registration form. Send the work to the Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova Museum by October 9th 2011. You can either send the works by mail or bring them to the museum's ticket desk. Mail and visiting address: Itäinen Rantakatu 4-6, 20700 Turku. Mark the package as follows: Turku Energia Biennaali Junior. Museum is open daily 11-19 (from September 20th Tue-Sun 11-19).
